A restless and innovative artist. This is how Beto Farias, or simply O Preto, can be defined. Born in Camaragibe, city of the Metropolitan Region of Recife, O Preto is seen as one of the promises of the current scene of the recifense music. Múltiplo, Preto stands out as a singer, musician, composer, cultural agitator and art educator.
O Preto is part of the artistic world with his work as an art educator recently, O Preto performed at FENEARC in 2016 and again at Psiu! Forró Festival 2017 (Berlin – Germany) and also at the Brotfabrik (Frankfurt – Germany), UfaFabrik – Internationales Kultur Centrum (Berlin – Germany) alongside Geraldinho Lins and Luizinho de Serra, show at the Multicultural Carnival in the city of Camaragibe, São João de Camaragibe (main stage), Carnival Multicultural (main stage) Camaragibe – PE 2017/2018; São João 2017 of Nazaré da Mata – PE (main stage) participations; Shopping Plaza – Nádia Maia; with Raphael Moura, São João de Caruaru – Benil Ramos, both events in 2017.
With the proposal of a „plural musicality“ O Preto explores rhythms such as pop, ballad, forró, afoxé, frevo, ciranda, carimbó and reggae.

Cristina began to sing as a child in the youth groups. Adolescent she entered the Marajoara Orchestra and later she joined the group Os Tropicais where she shared the stage with Flávio José for a few years.
In 1990, she started her solo career, participating in and winning the Recifrevo Festival and in 1991 at the Canta Nordeste Festival of Rede Globo she was second in the category of Best Interpreter with the song „Cidade Grande“ by Petrúcio Amorim. Parallel to the regional discography that came to launch year after year, she participated in national CDs as Recifrevoé I and II, along with artists such as Chico Buarque, Maria Bethânia, Alceu Valença, Paulinho da Viola and Lenine among others. Later she participates in the CD Forró Brasil, with Gilberto Gil, Dominguinhos, Elba Ramalho and Alceu Valença, as well as representing Brazil on international tours through Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal and France. She also participated in the Festival of Montreux twice, with the addition of one of her songs in 1998 in the CD „Montreux Jazz Festival“ being the highlight.
In 2018, in addition to releasing her DVD, Cristina Amaral was honored as the best Forró singer of 2018 and for the best DVD at Pernambuco’s 9th Music Award. Throughout her career Cristina has sold more than 60 thousand albums and counts several successes in the 35 years dedicated to music.
